Thornbury FM is delighted to announce a new proposal to promote local radio in our local schools. Sponsorship from Oldbury Power Station and the new Aldi Store in Thornbury will enable Thornbury FM to hire a schools worker, to support local schools preparing to be involved when the radio station next goes on air in November. Volunteers from Thornbury FM will also be offering their skills and experience.

This short-term project will focus on pupils between the ages of 10 and 14. A similar project is planned for older children. Project Leader Dan Budd says, "We are very grateful to Aldi and the Power Station for getting this exciting project off to a good start. We appeal to other local businesses to join in offering us assistance so that we can extend the support we offer to schools. Programmes presented by children and young people have always been popular on Thornbury FM, and have helped to provide a positive creative outlet for our local youth population. We really want to see this established and developed in our local schools."
